Turkey January 2011

Cougar Drilling Solutions’  Performance Drilling Service utilizing a 4 ¾” Cougar MM4 mud motor allowed the Client to complete the well 8 days ahead of schedule saving around USD 400,000

Objective

  • To improve the drilling performance and reach TD as quickly as possible thereby reducing well cost and minimizing bore-hole instability risk
  • Drill the section in a single bit run and BHA

Result

  • A 4 ¾” Cougar mud motor was used to drill 6″ hole from 4,018ft  to 4,922 ft total depth in 54.5 hrs at an average of 16.6 ft/hr, in two runs improving to ROP from 4 ft/hr in rotary mode. The bit trip was made to modify the BHA and remove a stabilizer which was hanging-up.
  • The total operational time on the 4 ¾” Cougar mud motor was 58.5 hours.

Iraq December 2010

A Cougar Drilling Solutions high performance mud motor technology allowed the Client to complete drilling the well in record time beating the previous field record (which was also held by CDS).

Objective

  • To improve the drilling performance and reach TD as quickly as possible thereby reducing well cost and minimizing bore-hole instability risk
  • Drill the section in a single bit run and BHA

Result

  • Cougar Drilling Solutions used our MM675 6 ¾” sealed-bearing mud motor to drill the 8 1/2″ hole section from 1,918m to a total depth of 3,347m in 146 hrs at 12.2 m/hr (ave.) setting a new field record
  • The total operational time on the 6 ¾” motor set a local record of 141.9 hours.

Iraq November 2010

A Cougar high performance mud motor allowed the Client to complete drilling the well in  record time and without incident despite difficult drilling conditions in the Nahr-Umar Formation reaching TD in a single bit run

  • Drill the section in a single bit run and BHA

Result

  • Cougar Drilling Solutions used an MM675 Cougar 6 ¾” mud motor to drill the 8 1/2″ hole section from 1984m to a TD of 3442m in 146 hrs.
  • The total operational time on the 6 ¾” Cougar mud motor set a local record of 190 hours.
